At Home Salted Coconut Foam Latte
There is nothing better than being able to make a Starbucks worthy coffee, AT HOME. Seriously, one of the best things ever. Especially on a Saturday!
I for one, do not have a fancy coffee maker. I've almost pulled the trigger on a Nespresso about 34,000 times. This last time, I ordered one and Macys canceled my order, which I took as a sign from God that I didn't need one!
I originally started my search for one to add to our wedding registry, thinking I'd only have to wait a couple of months. Well, after postponing our wedding, that couple months turned into a year and a half!
Needless to say, we're getting close to the wedding again, so I refuse to buy anything from the registry! That means, I've gotten pretty good at concocting my own drinks at home, even without a fancy Nespresso!
That's not to say you can't make any of these with a Nespresso, I'm sure you could and I'm sure they'd be better! But if you don't, no worries, I've got you covered! You'd be surprised at what all you can do with a $12 Amazon handheld frother!
Coffee
I use our Keurig Mini to brew all my coffee! I don't love it, but it works in a pinch, and it was $40. Like I said, the magic is all in the frother, so no matter how you brew your coffee, it'll work!
Whatever coffee you have, Kcups you have, doesn't matter, anything will work! This part isn't important, so use what you love!
Creamer
This is where the magic happens! The foam!
This part looks so much more complicated than it is. I'll explain below. Just know that for this part you'll need your favorite creamer. My favorite is Sugar Free Coconut Creamer!
One thing I will note: if you use a sugar free creamer, my advice is to supplement with something a little heavier, like half and half! Sugar free creamer tends to be a little more thin than a full sugar/full fat creamer which means it doesn't froth quite as well. So I use a combination of the two!
Frother
If you're fancier than I am, you probably have a really nice frother. If you do, then great! You're good to go!
If not, buy this handheld frother and thank me later. It is AMAZING. It's $13 and will change your coffee completely. I have had mine for almost three years and I love it more and more every time I use it!

Recipe:
Salted Coconut Foam Latte
Who needs Starbucks? With this recipe and my frother, you can easily make a Starbucks worthy drink without ever having to leave your kitchen! This recipe requires just a few simple ingredients, but the directions make all the difference in your foam, so pay attention there! This can be made with any flavor of creamer of your choice, coconut is just my favorite!
- 8 oz freshly brewed coffee
- 3 Tbsp sugar free creamer (I use coconut!)
- 1 Tbsp half and half
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 sprinkle sea salt
-
Brew a cup of coffee and set aside.
-
In a separate mug, combine your creamer, and half and half!
-
Microwave the creamer mixture for 30 seconds. It needs to be HOT to foam really well.
-
Take out of the microwave, add a dash of cinnamon, and froth for a whole minute.
-
The key here is to tilt your cup so that the whole head of the frother is submerged in cream the entire time. This helps it get super thick and fluffy!
-
Pour the foam over your coffee, add another dash of cinnamon, and a sprinkle of sea salt!
