Sugar Cookie Protein Balls
It's December 1st and that's the only excuse I needed to break out the Christmas sprinkles!
You went nuts over the sugar cookie cold foam in my reels last week, so I figured I might as well turn that into a protein ball. And I know I'm biased, but they might be the best I've ever made.
You need just 4 simple ingredients (if you've made the cold foam you have the main ingredient!), and you have 12 sugar cookie protein bites to keep you fueled and happy all week long!
What you'll need
cashew butter / peanut butter (cashew is better)
honey
vanilla protein powder (my favorite linked here - code: KALE20)
almond extract
sprinkles (optional, but not)
Protein Powder
The protein powder you use in a protein ball recipe is super important. Trust me when I say, I’ve tried them all and they are not all created equally.
Some get gritty when you combine them with other ingredients, some don’t melt seamlessly with the peanut butter, some are chunky, etc. There are a lot of reasons certain protein powders don’t work; all you need to know is that I only use one brand – IHeartMacros! Once you try it, you’ll never go back.
Note: this powder was created for people who have a hard time digesting protein (many people have a whey protein intolerance without even knowing it) so it’s super easy on your stomach!
I have yet to have a single person tell me they didn’t love this protein and that is rare when it comes to protein powders!
Sugar Cookie Protein Balls
The only protein ball you'll ever need! This recipe makes 12-14 of the most perfect, cake battery bites, each packed with 7g of the most delicious protein you'll ever have! Eat them as a protein packed on the go snack, a pre workout treat, as a cure to a late night sweet tooth, whatever you want! These are kiddo approved too!
1 cup cashew butter
3 Tbsp honey
2 scoops (50g) vanilla protein powder
2 tsp almond extract
sprinkles!
Combine peanut butter and honey in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1 minute or until melted.
Whisk together honey and cashew butter until combined. Add almond extract and whisk again.
Quickly add in protein powder and mix until thoroughly combined.
Refrigerate batter for about 10 minutes, or until chilled enough to hold its shape! Add sprinkles.
Use a cookie dough scoop to evenly scoop out 12 protein balls.
