Cookies & Cream Protein Granola

Oreos are one of my all time favorite things ever. After finding out that Oreos now come in crumbles, I've dedicated myself to finding every possible way I can use them in my recipes!

First and foremost, is where to find the Oreo crumbles. I found mine at Hyvee, in the section where the chocolate and white chocolate covered mini Oreos are. They're in the cookie section with the vanilla wafers, Teddy Grahams, etc.

Another place you can check is the baking section where all the other toppings/mix ins are. I've seen them at other stores right by the mini m&ms, toffee bits, and chocolate chips are!

Granola is something I love too, whether it's to snack on by itself, add to yogurt, top a smoothie with, whatever the case may be, I love it. I'm not exactly sure how I decided to combine Oreos and granola, but I did, and here we are!

Hey Safe and Fair, hit me up when you need your next granola flavor ... this is it!

This recipe is so, so simple, and can be adapted so many different ways. One thing I will mention is that it does include protein powder, and I think it adds to the "cream" flavor in the cookies and cream. But if you don't have it on hand or don't want to include it for some reason, it's completely fine to leave it out!

PROTEIN POWDER

The protein powder you use in any recipe is actually really, really important. Trust me when I say, I’ve tried them all and they are not all created equally.

Some get extremely clumpy and/or gritty when you combine them with other ingredients. Some don’t melt seamlessly with the peanut butter, some are chunky, etc. There are a lot of reasons certain protein powders don’t work; all you need to know is that I only use ONE!

The vanilla protein powder I use for all of my recipes is the best protein powder I’ve ever used. It works well in any recipe I’ve ever tried it in, it doesn’t dry things out, and the flavor is amazing. I could go on, just trust me.

I have taken the guess work out of trying tons of powders and brands, because once you try IheartMacros, you’ll never go back.

This powder was created for people who have a hard time digesting protein (many people have a whey protein intolerance without even knowing it) so it’s super easy on your stomach if you’ve ever had issues with that!

I have yet to have a single person tell me they didn’t love this protein and that is rare when it comes to protein powders!

You can find it here, and my code is KALE20 which will get you 20% off your purchase!

Recipe

Cookies and Cream Protein Granola

This granola is low in sugar, high in flavor. It utilizes my favorite ingredient as of late, oreo crumbles! It also packs a protein punch thanks to my favorite protein powder, which makes it the perfect addition to yogurt, or even on its own! This recipe requires minimal ingredients and makes a big enough batch to last you all week! My favorite part? The melty white chocolate that later turns into chunks. Enjoy!

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I use IHeartMacros)
  • 1/2 cup oreo crumbles (crush your own if you can't find these!)
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine rolled oats and oreo crumbles in a large mixing bowl and set aside.

  3. In a small saucepan, combine honey, coconut oil, and vanilla and put it over low heat.

  4. Whisk until honey, coconut oil, and vanilla are fully combined.

  5. Add in protein powder and whisk constantly until the consistency is caramel like. The color should be milky white, this takes about 2 minutes of consistent stirring!

  6. Leave this step out if not adding protein.

  7. Pour this mixture over the rolled oats and Oreo crumbles, and stir until well coated.

  8. Spread evenly on a greased or lined cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes.

  9. At 15 minutes, pull it out, add white chocolate chips, and stick back in the oven for about 2-3 mins, or until melted.

  10. Use a spoon to stir your granola. The melted chocolate is what makes it stick together and get chunky!

  11. Let it cool, and store in the fridge!
