Cinnamon Roll Bake

When it comes to the holidays, if you're anything like me, breakfast is 100% the way to go when it comes to cooking. Whether it's just Taylor and I celebrating, or I'm offering to bring something to our families houses, I always offer to make breakfast! Hands down, easiest meal to cook!

This cinnamon roll bake is Taylor's most often requested breakfast. It's not healthy by any means, but it is so delicious, and reminds me of the holidays! It's just one teeny tiny step up from making cinnamon rolls, and you'll have people thinking you're a mean cook, even if you cooking is not your thing!

We use this cinnamon roll bake for every holiday, and I try to bring it with us to the lake in the summer quite a bit too. It's so easy to make, and even easier to double and triple for large groups. I also love that it's extremely inexpensive to make, and requires minimal ingredients and actual cooking.

I like to prepare this and let it set in the fridge overnight, but that step isn't necessary if you forget or are short on time! I think the cinnamon rolls just soak up the eggs a bit better that way!

We top ours with syrup, powdered sugar, or fruit, or a combination of all three if we're really feeling crazy! You can't mess it up no matter what you go with! I hope you enjoy!

Two notes: Use any cinnamon rolls you can find. Whether they're flavored, the Cinnabon brand, store brand, reduced fat, it doesn't matter at all! Also, I beef up the icing that comes in the tubes with 1/2 a block of cream cheese and a little extra powdered sugar to give it a little more of a homemade taste but it's totally optional!

Ingredients:

  • 16 cinnamon rolls (2 tubes), cut into small pieces
  • 4 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup syrup
  • icing from the cinnamon roll tubes

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Pour butter into a 9x13 baking dish and spread evenly.
  3. Layer in cinnamon roll pieces and spread evenly.
  4. Whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  5. Pour egg mixture over the cinnamon rolls.
  6. Drizzle syrup over egg mixture.
  7. Refrigerate overnight (optional)
  8. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until cinnamon rolls are golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with icing, and enjoy!
