Key Lime Pie Protein Balls
I have been so, so excited to share this recipe because I feel like they are summer in protein ball form! I know you guys have been anxious about this one so I tried to crank it out as quickly as possible. These guys are bursting with the most fresh key lime flavor, and each protein ball is packed with 8g of vanilla protein!
They're super easy to grab and go, they make the perfect pre workout snack, and they can cure a sweet tooth in two seconds flat. They're also incredibly easy to make, and take less than five minutes to put together. The recipe makes 14 protein balls at a time, so you're set for awhile once you make a batch!
Key Lime Pie Granola
The Key Lime Pie granola plays an important role in the recipe. You won't get nearly as much of the key lime pie flavor without it. This granola is from a brand I've partnered with for almost two years now, called Safe and Fair. Safe and Fair is known for their products because they're made free of all allergens. They make several products I love and have shared before, but the key lime pie granola is an absolute favorite.

Protein Powder
The protein powder you use in a protein ball recipe is actually really, really important. Trust me when I say, I’ve tried them all and they are not all created equally.
Some get extremely clumpy and/or gritty when you combine them with other ingredients. Some don’t melt seamlessly with the peanut butter, some are chunky, etc. There are a lot of reasons certain protein powders don’t work; all you need to know is that I only use one!
The vanilla protein powder I use for all of my recipes is the best protein powder I’ve ever used. It works well in any recipe I’ve ever tried it in, it doesn’t dry things out, and the flavor is amazing. I could go on, just trust me. I have taken the guess work out of trying tons of powders and brands, because once you try IheartMacros, you’ll never go back.
This powder was created for people who have a hard time digesting protein (many people have a whey protein intolerance without even knowing it) so it’s super easy on your stomach if you’ve ever had issues with that! I have yet to have a single person tell me they didn’t love this protein and that is rare when it comes to protein powders!

Key Lime Pie Protein Balls
These protein balls pack a fun summer punch, bursting with the most fresh key lime pie flavor. They require minimal ingredients, take less than five minutes to put together, and each ball has a whopping 8 grams of protein! The most perfect snack for on the go, post workout, or a late night sweet tooth cure.
2/3 cup Safe and Fair Key Lime Pie Granola ((make sure it's crushed / really fine so that it's not super clumpy in the protein balls!))
1 cup cashew or peanut butter
2 scoops vanilla protein powder (I use IheartMacros)
2 Tbsp honey
1/4 cup lime juice
1 Tbsp fresh lime zest
In a large bowl, combine cashew/peanut butter and honey, and microwave for one minute.
Add in protein powder, granola, lime juice, and lime zest, and mix until combined.
Refrigerate for about ten minutes, or long enough that the dough will hold its shape!
Using a cookie dough scoop, measure out 14 even sized protein balls.
Optional - garnish with more lime zest!
Refrigerate until you're ready to eat!
