McGriddle Bake

Yall, I freaking love a McGriddle and if you don't, you're lying.

I'm not even the biggest pancake fan in the entire world but it's something about the syrup pockets in the pancake buns, mixed with the sausage. Now I need one.

I used to eat these multiple times a week in high school. Now that I'm an adult I realize the effect of eating McDonalds multiple times a week, and it's not the best habit to be in. Alas, the McGriddle bake.

A FUn Fact about this reicpe

If you were around back in August of 2020, you may remember the Kodiak Cakes event I helped host here in KC. A part of that online event was creating 3 recipes to be featured in their ebook they gave everyone who signed up.

This was one of those exact recipes! Only back then, I did them in my pancake bite form, and I used sausage links instead of crumbles. Since then, I've realized how to shortcut this recipe even more, which is hwo this recipe came to be!

But, all that to say, it's not brand new if you've been around for awhile!

What You'll Need

  • buttermilk pancake mix (I used Kodiak Cakes, but any will work)

  • Jimmy Dean turkey sausage crumbles

  • water

  • syrup (I use sugar free)

What to serve this with

If you want to create a well rounded meal with this recipe, pair it with a protein source and a fruit, and you're going to be full, satisfied, and happy, all morning long!

McGriddle Bake

This recipe is the easiest breakfast you'll ever make. Prep on Sunday and in 30 minutes you'll have 8 servings of a protein packed breakfast ready for the week! This is husband approved, kid approved, all the things. And did I mention it's freaking delish? A McDonalds dupe if you will! :)

  • 2 cups buttermilk pancake mix

  • 2 cups turkey sausage crumbles

  • 1 + 1/4 cup water

  • 1/2 cup sugar free syrup

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Spray an 9x13 baking dish with olive oil spray/cooking spray.

  3. Combine the pancake mix and water, and mix until combined.

  4. Pour the batter into the baking dish, and sprinkle on the sausage crumbles.

  5. Drizzle on the syrup, and put in the oven!

  6. Bake for 30 minutes, but start checking at the 20 min mark! My bake times vary with this occasionally. You just want the pancake mix to be golden!
